Cotton Poplin Lena dark blue

Cotton poplin is a natural cotton woven fabric with a plain weave. It is made from cotton fibre, which is extracted from the fruit of the cotton plant. It is a durable, breathable and absorbent, non-elastic, lightweight fabric, very comfortable to wear, but at the same time, it is an exceptionally durable, low-maintenance material.

Cotton poplin is printed in the most durable eco-friendly inks. Compared to standard cotton canvas, poplin is slightly stiffer despite its lower grammage.

Poplin is very easy to sew with a home sewing machine, so even beginners can work with it, just sew with a straight stitch with universal needles and finish the seam allowance with a zigzag stitch. Cotton poplin is a fabric primarily intended for sewing clothes - shirts, tunics, light summer dresses, and children's clothes. It can also be used quite well for sewing bed sheets, cot accessories, or various practical items for the kitchen and the whole household. As it is a natural material, it shrinks when washed, so we recommend pre-washing before sewing or ironing with a steam iron.
