Viscose fabric is crafted from cellulose fibres obtained through cellulose regeneration. Its luxurious resemblance to silk is evident in its softness, drapey, and smooth texture. However, it comes at a more affordable price point. This sustainable fabric is fully biodegradable and has gained popularity as a substitute for cotton in the textile industry, particularly in recent years. Known for its skin-friendly nature and excellent absorbency, it is perfect for creating skirts, tunics, dresses, and blouses. With its non-elastic and sturdy composition, the fabric offers enhanced drape compared to cotton, thanks to its slightly heavier fibre. Sewing viscose fabric is a breeze with a regular home sewing machine.

Viscose jersey, also known as viscose knitted fabric, is a delightful, drapey, and highly elastic material, ideal for fashioning stretchy t-shirts, dresses, and elegantly flowing skirts. Due to its remarkable elasticity and fluidity, we recommend using an overlock sewing machine or employing an overlock or zig-zag stitch to sew viscose jersey fabric.
