Waterproof - Imitation Leather

In the category of waterproof fabrics you can find waterproof, hydrophobic, or impregnated fabrics by the metre in popular colours such as black, green, old pink, white, beige etc. Water resistant fabric polyester, commonly known as pram fabric, is also available in a melange version known as imitation linen.

They are waterproof or water-resistant fabrics constructed of synthetic fibres.

Most often they are used for sewing projects that require both quick drying and waterproofing.

For instance, polyester - pram fabric is used for various outdoor curtains, strollers, and stroller accessories. Thanks to its easy maintenance, the fabric is also used for sewing bags, rucksacks, purses, or cosmetic bags. It is also used to make beanbags and pet beds because it is easy to clean and does not hold hair.

Waterproof polyester with a PVC layer, on the other hand, is harder due to the PVC layer and therefore it is also more challenging to sew. It can be used for various outdoor canopies such as canopy for a swing, sandbox or gazebo; outdoor tents, sales stands, beanbags, cushions for outdoor chairs, beds for animals, reinforcing waterproof parts of work clothes, waterproof mattresses and pallet seating mattresses.
